Regulation of the competition of documentary videos
"Caméra des champs"

Article 1 : Participants

The Council and the Rural Home of Ville-sur-Yron, in cooperation with the Lorraine Regional Natural park, organize a documentary competition "Caméras des Champs" open to every public.


Article 2 : Films

Only documentaries produced after January 1st 2000 will be selected.

The subject may deal with any aspect of rurality.

The length of the films is not limited. They should be presented in the French language, or subtitled or accompanied with a translation.

The video standards Béta SP, DV, VHS, mini-DV are accepted for the broadcasting copies.

The organizers decline any responsability for damages occuring during the dispatching or the handling of the cassettes.

The selected documentaries wil be shown from 19 till 22 May 2005 in the René Bertin hall of Ville-sur-Yron.


Article 3 : Sending of films

A VHS or DVD copy of the film should be sent by registered post by, February 28th, 2005, to the following address :

Only copies in perfect state for projection will be accepted.

Post expenses are chargeable to the participants.

Participants are required to send a brief summary as well as any information concerning the film, so as to facilitate the making of a programme of the selected films.


Article 4 : Registration rights

No enrolment fee will be asked to participate in the competition. Besides, accomodation fees for the authors who wish to be present at the broadcasting of their film and the prizegiving ceremony, will be chargeable to the festival. To be registered, the on line registration form should be filled.


Article 5 : Selected films

The results of the selection will be communicated by mail by the end of March, 2005.


Article 6 : Responsability

Participants are completely responsible for their work : images et sound. The presented films are free of rights for the broadcasting (distribution) during the festival.


Article 7 : Jury and Price

The decisions of the jury are without appeal and the deliberation, in the respect for the judgment of each of the members, are necessarily confidential.

The subsidies for the first 3 classified films amount respectively to 765.25 €, 457.35 € and 304.90 €.

If need be, a special prize can be awarded by the jury to reward a first work.

The prizegiving ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 22nd, 2005 at 05h00 pm in the René Bertin hall in Ville-sur-Yron.

The editors and distributors of a prized film contract to put on the poster and/or the jacket the mention of the won prize at the international competition of documentary videos "Caméras des Champs".


Article 8 : Authors' rights

Legal successor of the selected films agree to having VHS or DVD copy of their selected film subjected to a non commercial exploitation in France and abroad for a period of 5 years. The candidate guarantees to be the holder of the broadcasting rights.


Article 9 : Modification of the regulation

The organizers are free to modify the present regulation without advanced notice, if required in the interest of the Festival.


Article 10 : The regulation

The registration in the documentary competition of the festival "Caméras des Champs" implies the unconditional acceptance of these regulations.
